Clemson International Student Ministry

I must share with you, The Sunday evening service was wonderful. We were honored for our giving by NAMB Service Corp Missionary Jon Varner also the Director for International Student Ministry at Clemson. I Thought getting recognized by NAMB was a blessing the real blessing came when Jon spoke to us about the work he is doing with over 900 students from 90+ countries. When Jon spoke of the difficulties that witnessing to someone from the Chinese communist party would be in China. Then to say he was able to share the Gospel with just such a one in his own living room in Seneca. I was overwhelmed with God's sovereignty. It really made me feel God is bringing the nations to Clemson, and he is by these students being in our own backyard. Please find out more about this work contact jonvarner@bellsouth.net or call me.

NAMB recognition

This morning we received word that the NAMB (North American Mission Board) was honoring us for being the best per-capita giving Church in the Beaverdam Association for 2008. Don't mean to brag but boy was I honored. Church being the Church, Wolfstake has always shown a sacrificial giving spirit. I've seen it many times. And being recognized for this doesn't mean near as much as knowing that support to missions has always been important to us, and I pray it will continue. NAMB Service Corp Missionary John Varner will be speaking to us Sunday evening at 6pm and presenting our certificate. His work at CU is inspirational, dont miss it.

VBS

WOW, VBS is going so great, The children God has sent our way have been so attentive, so interested in the study. Its inspirational, I really can't express the feeling I get when I'm sharing with these children and see in their eyes the Love of Christ glowing. Every night we've added to the number and we're anticipating our last night to be our biggest. Thanks to all who have worked and your help, heaven has taken notice. Lets love this opportunity and take advantage of it for The Kingdoms sake.

Spiritual Depression

Have you ever been spiritually depressed? I mean have you ever felt a spiritual winter? Feelings like God has left you? Well your in good company, the Psalmist, the Disciples, the Apostle Paul, and many men and women of God have felt this very thing. The Psalmist declared "why is my soul downcast?" Let me ask you another question, Do you ever talk to yourself ? What you say to yourself during these times is very important. Or is it? I would suggest evaluating your self-talking. Are your Talking to yourself or are you listening to yourself? This answer will be very important for the spiritual gloom to go away. Most of the time when we're talking to ourselves we're not talking we're listening to ourselves. Big difference! When you talk, talk to yourself God's truth, talk the Gospel to yourself, talk the Word of God to yourself. Tell yourself the times that scripture shows how God worked in the peoples lives to bring glory and honor to Himself. When we just listen to ourselves, it's mostly poor pitiful me. When we talk God's truth to ourselves, it will begin to turn into praise, read the Psalms 42-46, see what happens.

Stand in the Gap

Standing in the Gap. Thats a saying from days gone by. But wow is it relevant for today. You know it means to go to God in prayer for someone else ie., your spouse, your children, your family members, your friends someone thats on your heart to pray for. Intercessory prayer is another phrase for it. but I believe its really getting down and serious, calling out to God for others. Analyze your prayer time to find out how much of your praying is for yourself and how much is for others. 60/40, 50/50, 80/20 God so hears those who will stand in the gap for others. Lets be sensitive for the needs of others. Iv'e discovered if your genuinely concerned more for others and will live like it, God will honor your life. And you'll discover standing in the Gap is a most precious calling. It was said of Charles Spurgeon, he would have literally hundreds of people praying while he was preaching, and men would come literally running to the altar to be saved. Interceding for anyone?

What must be done

Well I got my chance to vent this morning about Our Presidents proclamtion to celebrate immorality. Now I share what must be done: When the Society is plummeting from moral decline what must be done-Preach The Gospel. when our nation is plagued by drugs and alcohol what must be done-Preach The Gospel. When our country is going off the path of being the Democractic Republic we were founded to be and fast heading toward socialism what must be done-Preach The Gospel. When our Nation is in Financial choas what must be done Preach The Gospel. When Our President is making some very unwise decisions what must be done Preach The Gospel, and pray for him. Father I do come in Prayer For our President and our Nation, Please forgive our transgressions of your Word. please help our President make righteous and just decisions, to lead this country on your paths. Please help me as a Pastor to shepard the flock you have entrusted me with. To Boldly with Love and truth, Preach The Gospel, In Jesus Name Amen.

Immorality has come a long way

On June 1 President Obama signed a proclamation making June National Gay, Lesbian,Bi-sexual, transgender month. Obama in his proclamation applauded gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals and transgenders. Heres the link to the White House website. Bill Clinton was the first President to do this although Clinton' proclamation in 1999 and 2000 didn't include bi-sexuals and transgenders. I don't want this to be a political post, but as an American Evangelical I am outraged. When the government not only supports but promotes sinful sexual behavior to the masses and proclaims a month long celebration we're in trouble. The Bible warns the nations about calling evil good and good evil. I'm venting so I must be careful in what I say but sin is sin, and the only way to deal with sin is by the Blood and Cross of Christ. I am outraged for so many reasons, but here are just a few: 1. Obamas proclamation equates the homosexual movement with the civil rights struggles of the 1950's and 1960's. This is absurd have you ever seen footage of what happened in Selma, AL or other places where marching took place. Ever seen a water fountain marked "gay only straight only". 2. It trivializes the right of freedom and liberty and pursuit of happiness to the right to sin. "There can be no liberty without the Law". 3. If I was sensitive to gays, (I am, it is a horrendous thing to be so attached to sin and reject the very thing that can free you--Repentance and Faith in Christ) to include bi-sexuality and transgender ism. Gays are demanding same sex marriages, what's going to happen when bi-sexuals want polygamist's marriages with multiple partners and the pedophile wants a child bride or the bestiality's wants to marry a cat. How long will we let this continue America, no the real question is how long will God let this continue. Think America needs a revival and evangelizing?
